Research and Development of Margin Assessment Methodology of Decay Heat Removal Function against External Hazards is being carried out in the MEXT nuclear system research and development project from JFY 2012 to 2015. In JFY 2013, hazard and event sequence evaluation methodoloies were developed against snow, tornado and strong wind hazards. Volcanic ash diffusion simulation was also conducted to obtain a volcanic eruption duration. A numerical simulation for forest fire was performed to indicate that humiidity and wind speed were sensitive.
